Salvation Has Come
11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!

Salvation has Come
The grace and mercy of our God flows out from the Cross of his Son, Jesus. Our own works couldn't avert our doom. Neither could the works of the Israelites avert their doom. But his grace has overflowed upon us because of their sin. Our God is a jealous God. He wants you all to himself. He wants all his church to himself. He wants Israel to himself. He will share with no made up god or idol. However, our hearts are not capable of believing in Jesus. Neither has any man's heart since Adam fell into sin. We need rescued. We need made new. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit calls us with this good news: Jesus died on the cross to save you from your sins and rose again for your justification. He enlightens you with the gifts of heaven. He washes you in the waters of heavenly Baptism. He forgives all your sins. He feeds you with the very body and blood of Jesus' cross. What riches he has lavished upon us and all that believe. Therefore we are called, "Children of God!"
