Sent to Tell
Tychicus will tell you all about my activities. He is a beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord. I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are and that he may encourage your hearts, and with him Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you of everything that has taken place here.

Sent to Tell
In a peculiar way the church lives and dies by the proclamation of Christ’s Word. Jesus sets it up this way. As the Father sent Jesus, so also, Jesus sends the apostles, and the apostles send pastors. Tychicus and Onesimus and Timothy and Titus and Silas, and even your pastor, are sent by the Holy Spirit to tell you all about the Lord Jesus and the work of the apostles among you to forgive sins. It is a great delight to tell you everything that has taken place. The power of the Spirit to grant faith is orchestrated by the preaching of the Word, the proclamation of the absolution, and the inserting of the Word into the water of Baptism and the bread and wine of the Sacrament. Rejoice in the proclamation of the Good News to you! It has been sent by God.
