Remember the Chains
Even in prison, Paul sent letters to his people. Even in the throes of suffering, Paul declares the peace of the cross to you and to me. He writes it with his own hand, he sends it by his own fruition. He grants you what only the Lord Jesus could give, grace and peace. Every preacher gives this grace. This is the peace that surpasses all things. This is the great work of our God to make you new in his Son. The suffering that you suffer, it will pass, and the surpassing greatness of the Lord’s presence will sustain you forever. Your sins are forgiven in Christ Jesus. Amen.
