One Shepherd, One Flock

14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
John 10:14-16

One Shepherd, One Flock
Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep and is known by them. This knowing is not mere recognition but deep, saving relationship, won through His cross. The Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep, not as a tragic end, but as the triumph of divine love. His death gathers scattered sinners into one flock, united not by choice or worth, but by His blood. Christ’s words reach beyond Israel to all nations. The “other sheep” are brought in through the Gospel, which still calls out across the world, and into our hearts, today. In the voice of the crucified and risen Lord, we hear the assurance that we belong to Him. There is no safer place than under the care of the Shepherd who laid down His life, only to take it up again, for you.
