Glory Revealed

4 But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” 5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 So, when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was. 7 Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.” 8 The disciples said to him, “Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?”

Glory Revealed
The Lord Jesus has his own in the palm of his hand. He is the God of love and compassion. He loves Lazarus, Mary, and Martha. Our suffering in this life does not go unnoticed by our God. He knows that our suffering comes by his fatherly hand. He is always guiding and guarding. Our God has a plan for us. We may not understand it in the moment. He bids us walk with him and the glory of God is revealed. Jesus stays two days longer before he goes to Lazarus. We wait on the Lord. We trust in his Word and we send word to him: we pray to him. He always hears our prayers. He answers in the best way. Those answers don’t always conform to our idea of what should happen. Faith trusts the Lord’s ways and his thoughts. Faith expects God to fulfill his promise and to shower us with his love. Jesus goes to Judea again. He goes to Judea to die for Lazarus and for you and me. Death no longer has mastery over us. You live because Jesus lives forever. The glory of God is revealed in you.
