7 Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial. 8 For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”

Let Her Alone
In the name of the Father and the +Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Son of Man comes to be die for the world. Mary marks it with this great gesture. Every time this story is told, we will remember. Something out of the ordinary has come. We did not expect God to come in the flesh of a man and to take our place. The ordinary things we will always have. Jesus comes to the ordinary and breaks the mold. He comes not to just join the status quo, but to make us new. This Jesus breaks our status quo. He calls us out of our ordinary lives and centers us on the cross. We are renewed and strengthened by Jesus’ means of grace. Leave Mary alone and focus on the grace that has broken into this world and turned you upside down. By his death you have life and in his life you are justified. Thanks be to God. In the name of +Jesus. Amen.
