The Lord Accuses the People
You have wearied the Lord with your words. But you say, “How have we wearied him?” By saying, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delights in them.” Or by asking, “Where is the God of justice?” Malachi 2:17
The Lord Accuses the People
Every step of the way, we weary our Lord with our endless attempts at self-justification. We would erase our own sins and not be held accountable for them. We have stopped calling a spade a spade. The world calls evil good and good evil. It is in the process of redefining precious gifts from God into the slaves of sin and destruction. The Lord does not delight in our sin. He does not delight in our evil. The Lord loves righteousness and wants that everyone should turn from their sin and repent and believe. He gives the perfect and good gifts to us. He gives us his own Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to cleanse you of your sins and to end death’s hold on you. God’s justice is seen in this Jesus. All the sin of the world was cast upon Jesus, and you were reconciled to the Father. Now he continues to give you his truth. He continues to call you by his Gospel. He delights in those that are washed in the blood of Jesus and that is Good.
