Stabat Mater

So the soldiers did these things, 25 but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” 27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.

Stabat Mater
The mother was standing at the foot of his cross. There also was John, his beloved disciple. In Jesus death, He takes care of his mother. Behold, your son! Behold, your mother! He makes sure that all things are given for your support and nourishment in this life. This Jesus does for you, too. Lay your worry at his feet; he has promised to provide for you in every situation, no matter the difficulty. Be not bound to your anxiety and worry. Jesus frees you with his death. He takes care of both body and soul. He defeats your enemies and promises never to leave you. Stand at his feet and fix your eyes on his cross. It is his Word that will direct you. When everything else fades and falls apart, his Word remains. By faith, stand at his cross and receive his Word.
