Least of All

Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. Least of All
It can often be difficult in this life to feel like we can make a difference. We look around and survey the landscape of our lives, and so many people seem to have it together and are able to effect change. Yet when we look in the mirror we don’t see the same thing. Paul, while still a Pharisee, saw himself as one who was making a difference. When he looked in the mirror he liked what he saw. But that is the thing about this life: it is not what we see in ourselves that matters, but what Christ makes you to be. Through grace, we are made into children of God and tasked with loving God and loving our neighbors. We cease to be the least of all in our eyes and the eyes of the world and are made precious in our Lord’s sight. He gives us a new life born through the water and the Word, clothed in His righteousness and made clean in His blood. It is in this new life that the unsearchable riches of Christ are revealed to us. May we continue to see the worth of every person created in the image of God, including ourselves.
