Strong in the Lord
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Strong in the Lord
The Christian life will always be a struggle. Attacks on our faith through temptations and moral failings will plague all our days. We will be tempted to yield on doctrine, to reduce the church to a shell. Temptations towards lovelessness and hate will be ever-present. Therefore, we must be strong against these temptations. But we cannot be strong in ourselves. We can only be strong in the Lord. We are in a battle of cosmic proportions against an incessant and evil foe, but fear not, for the Lord has already won. Our victory lies in the cross and the empty tomb. We have been given all we need to protect against the devil, the world, and our own sinful flesh because we have been given faith to know Christ as our Savior. And in Him, we are victorious.
