But Not With His Power

19 He said, “Behold, I will make known to you what shall be at the latter end of the indignation, for it refers to the appointed time of the end. 20 As for the ram that you saw with the two horns, these are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the goat is the king of Greece. And the great horn between his eyes is the first king. 22 As for the horn that was broken, in place of which four others arose, four kingdoms shall arise from his nation, but not with his power.
Daniel 8:19-22

But Not With His Power

The Lord grants power to rule and maintain righteousness. He punishes wickedness by the rod of government. He reveals to Daniel that a great king will rise up after the Empire of the Meads and the Persians. Indeed, the power and might of Greece comes upon the scene. It is shattered into four kingdoms with the death of Alexander. God maintains order and peace that at the right time and at the fullness of time he would bring forth his Son to redeem the world and restore life and light to you and me. These great visions terrified Daniel. It was revealed to him the end of all things so that we would know of the love of Christ for us. Of His kingdom, there will be no end. He reigns by the shed blood of the cross and the forgiveness of your sins.
