Glory and Splendor

Adorn yourself with majesty and dignity; clothe yourself with glory and splendor. Pour out the overflowings of your anger, and look on everyone who is proud and abase him. Look on everyone who is proud and bring him low and tread down the wicked where they stand. Hide them all in the dust together; bind their faces in the world below. Then will I also acknowledge to you that your own right hand can save you.
Job 40:10–14

Glory and Splendor
If we could take care of ourselves we would have no need for God. This is the point He is making here. If you can save yourself do the simplest of things that I do to demonstrate your glory and splendor. Of course, we cannot. We are totally and completely reliant on our gracious Lord. And He just as He is coming to Job now in his lowest point, He also comes to us in ours. He is always there to watch over us, to provide for us in every need, be it physical, mental, or spiritual. Our heavenly Father continues to rule over all creation so that we might know His love for us. He daily and richly provides for our every need. He holds nothing back, including His only Son our Lord Jesu Christ. He graciously sent Him to take our place on the cross so that we might be reconciled to Him. Jesus took our sins and paid for them with His own blood so that forgiveness, life, and salvation would be ours. So we look to the cross and we see the glory and splendor of God’s great love for us. We humbly come to the foot of the cross and cling to it in faith knowing that we are washed clean by the blood which was stained that same cross. And it is not the overflowings of God’s anger which pours out upon us, but His love.
